EXEKO products are ORGANIC CERTIFIED according to the COSMOS standard, what does it mean?

The COSMOS-standard AISBL is a not-for-profit, international association registered in Belgium. It was set up to own, manage and develop the COSMOS-standard as an international (and internationally accepted) standard for organic and natural cosmetics. The AISBL was founded in 2010 by the five main European (and international) organisations involved with organic and natural cosmetics standards: BDIH in Germany, Cosmebio and Ecocert in France, ICEA in Italy, and Soil Association in the UK.

Overall, COSMOS-certified products are produced to the highest standards for organic and natural cosmetics, and are safe, effective and good to use. They are easy to identify by their labels which contain all the information you need to choose a product that fulfils your needs and expectations* (* COSMOS - standard Cosmetics Organic and Natural Standard, Version 3.0 - including editorial changes, published 1 January 2019).

Why it was so important for EXEKO to put on the market ORGANIC CERTIFIED products?

Overall, the main reason is that we fully we share COSMOS standard "green philosophy":

  1. Promote the use of products from organic agriculture, and respect biodiversity.
  2. Use natural resources responsibly, and respect the environment.
  3. Use processing and manufacturing that are clean and respectful of human health and the environment.

We just discovered your EXEKO HAND CARE cream. Can you tell us a little more about that product?

With pleasure, EXEKO HAND CARE cream intensely hydrates very dry hands from the first application. It offers protection to hands exposed to extreme conditions such as the cold or frequent washing. Its gentle formula respects and softens the skin, reduces roughness and soothes irritations to provide lasting comfort.

As a manufacturer with profound knowledge of the cosmetic market, we know that the quality of cosmetic products is significantly determined by the quality and goodness of the raw materials used.

KEY INGREDIENTS of EXEKO HAND CARE are: Olive oil, Lavender Flower Water, Shea butter and Sollies figues extract.

98% of ingredients are of natural origin/ 20% of ingredients are from organic farming.

What about sustainable development and social responsibility, that are key challenges for the cosmetics sector?

Because EXEKO values its' environmental and social responsibility, the company pursues a global and complete environmental and social responsibility policy in different ways. Along with many other partners, we are promoting the use of developmentally disadvantaged workers through partnership with ESAT (Etablissement et Service d’Aide par le Travail). We limit our consumption of cardboard and other wasteful materials by reducing the size of our cases and displays as much as possible.

Our policy for waste management is dedicated to continuous efforts at recycling and waste reduction. We have practiced the systematic recycling of most of our waste since 2012. Our industrial waste disposal is managed by an ISO14001 certified partner. Our transportation preferences are driven by our desire to reduce our daily impact on the environment. Our transporters are certified according to ISO 14001. We give priority to local suppliers. We buy raw materials primarily in France, otherwise in Europe, and seldom elswere.
